Clasado Biosciences (‘Clasado’), a global leader in the development of clinically proven prebiotic ingredients and product solutions for the human gut microbiome, encourages market engagement in Global Prebiotics Week ahead of the 2022 event, taking place November 1-5.
The awareness week, which takes place annually during the first week of November, is hosted by industry body the Global Prebiotic Association (GPA). The theme of this year’s event is ‘Powering the Microbiome’.
Designed to accelerate knowledge of the rapidly expanding prebiotics category, Global Prebiotics Week arms consumers and formulators alike with stronger understanding of the gut microbiome’s connection with health and wellbeing, and the subsequent role of prebiotics.
Of particular significance to the health and nutrition sectors, the GPA will also be highlighting key insights from its new consumer insights report.
Throughout Global Prebiotics Week 2022, the GPA and its members, including Clasado, will be sharing key learning resources that communicate the scientific evidence powering the prebiotic category’s success.
Per Rehné, CEO at Clasado Biosciences, comments: “We cannot overstate the importance of education when it comes to prebiotics and indeed the wider field of gut health. Consumers around the world are getting switched on to the importance of a well-supported gut microbiome, so now it’s a case of understanding how we join these dots and develop products that meet today and tomorrow’s consumer demand?
“For many health and nutrition brands, prebiotics offer innovative ways to meet a clearly accelerating consumer demand – products for improved gut-microbiome health. As the category gains traction, it’s easy to forget that it’s still a relatively new option for health and nutrition brands, so there are key knowledge gaps that continue to close – and awareness events such as Global Prebiotics Week only expedite that. We’re proud to be part of it once again, and we encourage everyone to take part and engage!”
Throughout the week, the Global Prebiotic Association will be sharing top-level industry insights that put the commercial potential of prebiotics in the spotlight. For its part, Clasado Biosciences will continue to amplify the messaging and share the market-leading portfolio of science behind its multi award-winning ingredient, Bimuno® GOS.
Traci Kantowski, GPA Communications Director, adds: “Global Prebiotics Week is gathering momentum, and it’s a prime opportunity to accelerate our collective understanding of prebiotics and the role they play in health and wellbeing, as well as in formulations. A fantastic opportunity to learn more about Global Prebiotics Week will be at the upcoming SupplySide West event in Las Vegas, Nov. 2-3. We will be exhibiting at booth 5505 and engaging with delegates to amplify the messages of Global Prebiotics Week.
“We look to make the week as engaging as possible so that no matter what level of understanding you have, whether you’re familiar with prebiotics or new to the category, there will be plenty to learn about. There is strong market appetite for prebiotics and huge potential further growth, so the awareness week is a chance to take a step back, look at the fascinating science being developed by the sector, and identify how it can be translated into a finished product that captures attention.”
