Doug King appointed Director of Sales North America

Clasado has announced that Doug King, former Senior Sales Manager North America, has been promoted to the role of Director of Sales, North America.

The business continues to expand its global operations and bring its own brand of leading microbiome science to the rapidly growing North American health market. Doug’s promotion will see expanded responsibilities, nurturing relationships with partners and distributors in the region.

Per Rehné, CEO at Clasado Biosciences, commented: “Clasado is, very proudly, a business that encourages its team to push their skills to next level and grow in all aspects. Doug excels in bringing the Clasado values – and our leading prebiotic ingredient, Bimuno® – to the North American market.

“Doug will be actively involved in shaping and guiding commercial strategy in the region, as well as fostering the fantastic relationships we have. North America is a market full of potential and the field of gut health continues to surge to the top of the public agenda. Doug is a talented and hard-working member of the global Clasado team, and we’re confident his success will continue at pace.”

Joining the Clasado team in 2021, Doug’s extensive experience in commercial food ingredients and dairy account management have already strengthened the brand’s foothold in the market.

Doug added: “I’m delighted to take up the role of Director of Sales North America and continue to grow Clasado’s presence in the area. For health and nutrition brands of every size and subcategory, prebiotic fibre is quickly climbing the agenda as consumers learn more about the benefits of nourishing beneficial bacteria in the gut.

“With Bimuno, the most studied prebiotic of its kind, we demonstrate directly to formulators that true consumer-led innovation and a rock-solid foundation of scientific backing doesn’t need to be difficult, complex or costly. It can be remarkably simple for formulators!”
