Clasado Biosciences will put the spotlight on prebiotic innovation as a sponsor of The Outlook on Active Nutrition 2026.
Organised by Nutritional Outlook, the event takes place 24 September 2026 at the National Conference Center, New Jersey, USA, and brings together leaders from across sports nutrition, performance, and ingredient science. For Clasado, the sponsorship reflects a close alignment between the event’s focus on science-led innovation and the company’s commitment to advancing the role of the gut microbiome in performance and wellbeing.
Rather than treating gut health as a peripheral concern, the company sees it as a central part of the active nutrition conversation, and a largely untapped opportunity for product developers.
As Marcelo Durante, VP of Sales & Marketing at Clasado, explains: “Active nutrition has long been shaped by protein, muscle and recovery, and those priorities are not changing. However, the next major wave of differentiation lies in the gut microbiome. Formulators and brands who are focused on supporting gut comfort, gut barrier function and immunity have a real opportunity to deliver these benefits with prebiotics. Sponsoring The Outlook on Active Nutrition is a natural way for us to help move that conversation forwards.”
The case for combining prebiotics with established sports nutrition ingredients such as protein, creatine and electrolytes is increasingly supported by athlete-specific science. A recent randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study at Nottingham Trent University, published in Experimental Physiology, found that healthy male team-sport athletes taking daily supplementation of prebiotic Bimuno® GOS showed a 38% reduction in peak change in IFAB-P, a key gut barrier integrity biomarker of gut barrier damage. The results also showed reduced gastrointestinal symptom severity by 39% alongside less severe and shorter cough and cold symptoms, averaging just 3.2 days versus 8.9 in the placebo group.
Steven Riley, Head of Marketing at Clasado, added: “Consumer awareness around the importance of gut health in overall health and wellbeing is growing exponentially. With this will come increasing demand for products that support core activity goals, such as muscle development and recovery through protein and creatine, while also incorporating biotics to help them stay healthy and perform at their best. For active consumers and athletes alike, staying healthy and available to train is fundamental to consistent performance. Gut and immune health are not an alternative to muscle development and recovery, but rather an additional consideration to support health in wider terms. The research connecting Bimuno GOS with gastrointestinal comfort, gut barrier function and immune resilience gives formulators and brand owners a scientifically substantiated path into this space.”
Multi-award-winning prebiotic ingredient Bimuno GOS can be incorporated into a wide range of sports nutrition formats, including powders, bars and gummies. Backed by over 135 scientific publications, including more than 25 clinical studies, it is the most widely studied ingredient of its type available to formulators.
