At last year’s event, the scientifically supported galactooligosaccharide (GOS) ingredient Bimuno wowed the judging panel after showcasing its versatility and scientific backing.
After its research portfolio surpassed 100 scientific publications since the previous year’s awards, the Clasado team is excited to be sharing the additional insights gained from the use of Bimuno.
Steven Riley, Head of B2B and Corporate Marketing at Clasado, comments: “Last year, prebiotics became a distinct NutraIngredients Awards category for the first time; a real testament to how quickly the market is growing. With Bimuno taking top honours last year, it highlights the recognition of our industry leading science in the market. Becoming shortlisted as a finalist is fantastic, and we’re very proud as a team of what has been achieved to date.
“Bimuno was already one of the most studied prebiotic ingredients of its kind, and now it’s reached a true landmark in 100 scientific publications and more than 20 clinical trials. From the outset our goal was to deliver a scientifically backed, versatile and high-performance prebiotic ingredient for our formulator partners around the globe, and we’re certainly delivering.”
Alongside securing Ingredient of the Year: Prebiotic at the European edition of the NutraIngredients Awards 2021, the ingredient also replicated this success at the NutraIngredients Awards US, as well as a shortlisting at NutraIngredients Awards Asia.
Steven adds: “We’re more connected with health and wellbeing than ever before and consumers the world over are switching on to the benefits of gut health. Surging interest in immune health and cognition is certainly fuelling this demand. Prebiotics such as Bimuno, which nourish and encourage the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, are one of the most stable and effective ways for formulators to develop truly consumer-led products.
“As ever, it’s fantastic to be recognised as one of the best and most value-adding prebiotic ingredients on the market. We look forward to the online ceremony on the 4th of May 2022 and celebrating the key role prebiotics are playing within health and nutrition.”
