The strategic initiative is part of Clasado’s commitment to supporting scientific advancement and greater understanding of gut related health within healthcare, the advisory board works to explore the key role of prebiotics as part of dietary health interventions.

As prebiotics expand in potential scope from health and wellbeing into more direct medical applications, the advisory board will aim to set new directions for public health through gut microbiome modulation.

Prof. Georg Holländer

Prof. Holländer is a distinguished Molecular Medicine expert at Basel University, Switzerland, and a founding member of the Institute for Research in Immunology Cancer at the University of Montreal, Canada.

Trained in both Switzerland and the USA, Prof. Holländer has held significant academic positions at institutions like Harvard Medical School. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford and is a recognised authority in developmental immunology with active memberships in prestigious scientific societies and fellowships.

Prof. Matthias Kloor

Dr. Kloor is the Deputy Medical Director at the Department of Applied Tumor Biology within the Institute of Pathology at University Hospital Heidelberg, Germany.

Dr. Kloor leads the “Immune biology of microsatellite unstable cancer” research group, contributing over 180 peer-reviewed publications, including his habilitation in Applied Tumor Biology, and earning scientific awards such as the Felix Burda Award. Since 2019, he has served on the Scientific Advisory Board at SIRIC Curamus, Sorbonne University, Paris.


Prof. Huub Savelkoul

Prof. Savelkoul is a prominent Professor in the Cell Biology Immunology Group at Wageningen University, Netherlands. His background includes a PhD cum laude in Immunology from Erasmus University and a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University’s DNAX Research Institute.

He is a co-inventor on 8 patents and has published over 373 peer-reviewed papers. Prof. Savelkoul’s diverse research interests span from basic immunology to veterinary immunology, including poultry, swine, allergy, and infection biology.

Per Rehné

A dynamic business leader with extensive experience in the food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, Per Rehné is the Chief Executive Officer of Clasado Biosciences, having joined the business in 2019.

Per’s role involves driving strategic international growth at Clasado Biosciences, and in doing so, widening the prebiotic category’s influence as a whole.

Dr. Lucien Harthoorn

Dr Harthoorn is the Director of Research & Development at Clasado Biosciences. With an MSc in Biomedical Sciences, specialising in Pharmacology, and a PhD in Metabolic Physiology, he brings over 15 years of experience leading scientific and clinical studies in various global environments and academic institutions.

Among his accomplishments, Dr Harthoorn’s research includes co-/authoring more than 50 published scientific papers, holding 10 patents, and being a noted guest lecturer in Pharmacology, Physiology, and Nutrition.

Dr. Frederic Narbel

Dr. Narbel is a seasoned executive with a wealth of experience in functional food and food supplements. As the VP of Sales B2B at Clasado Biosciences, Dr. Narbel plays a pivotal role in the company’s global expansion efforts, aligning strategies and commercial objectives.

Dr. Narbel’s experience is underscored by his academic achievements, as he holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from the prestigious Business School Lausanne. His deep understanding of the functional food and supplement industries positions him as a key figure in Clasado’s continued success, and that of the wider prebiotics category.
