Clasado Biosciences (‘Clasado’) announces its support for Global Prebiotics Week 2024, taking place November 3-9.
The annual awareness event, hosted by the Global Prebiotic Association (GPA) and in its fifth year, returns with the theme ‘Powering the Microbiome’ to highlight the crucial role of prebiotics in supporting gut health and overall wellbeing through microbiome modulation.
As consumer awareness of gut health continues to rise, the prebiotic category is experiencing significant growth. Market intelligence firm Grand View Research projects a compound annual growth rate of almost 15% for the global prebiotics market to 2030, underlining the strong commercial potential for health and nutrition brands.
Steven Riley, Head of B2B & Corporate Marketing at Clasado Biosciences, commented: “Global Prebiotics Week is a brilliant initiative for the health and wellbeing industry, and a great opportunity to support gut health education. Consumers are increasingly proactive about managing their health and seeking scientifically backed solutions that support better everyday wellness. For many health and nutrition formulators, this points directly to prebiotics, making them the focal point for next-generation health and wellbeing product formulations.
“At Clasado, we’re proud believers in the power of education. This awareness week provides an ideal platform to showcase the strong scientific principles behind prebiotics. The theme, ‘Powering the Microbiome’, underlines the importance of nourishing good gut bacteria, which support a wide range of key health areas.”
Throughout the week, the GPA and its members will share educational resources highlighting the science of prebiotics. Clasado brings valuable insight through its prebiotic ingredient Bimuno® GOS, the most studied galactooligosaccharide in the prebiotics market, supported by over 120 scientific publications including more than 20 clinical trials.
“As a GPA member and with several members of our team on committees and working groups, we’re proud to support this important initiative that helps bridge knowledge gaps around prebiotics,” added Steven. “The gut health industry is advancing at a remarkable speed, particularly in emerging categories such as synbiotics that combine the benefits of prebiotics and probiotics. With such strong scientific backing and more delivery formats than ever before, better gut health has never been more accessible to consumers. This is fantastic news for the future of public health and demonstrates how far the category has come.”
Health and nutrition brands are encouraged to participate in Global Prebiotics Week 2024 using hashtags #GPW2024, #PoweringTheMicrobiome and #PrebioticInfo.
